Torment: Tides of Numenera is one step closer to it’s February 28th, as inXile have announced it’s gone gold, which means it’s ready for publish, with the final version ready to go out.
Developer inXile Entertainment is celebrating with a new interactive video that gives viewers a chance to “play” through a quest.
The video, narrated by Creative Lead Colin McComb, offers several different endings, depending on the choices players make while watching. InXile and publisher Techland felt that the video offered the perfect way to show off a game that plays out differently based on the decisions players make as they progress.
McComb acts as a dungeon master throughout the video, which shows off secrets and other hidden things, while at the same time putting a small portion of the story, character development and themes that will be showcased when the game finally launches on February 28 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The game blew through its initial Kickstarter goal and all its stretch goals in April 2013, raising more than $4.5 million. The game was originally only planned for PC, but Techland and inXile announced late last year that the game would hit consoles as well. The game has had several delays as the team tried to perfect the RPG’s presentation, which is being designed as somewhat of a spiritual successor the the D&D-based Planescape: Torment game, but now using the Numenra rule set..
Torment: Tides of Numenera is scheduled for release on February 28th.
How did you find out this news? I am a backer on Kickstarter but they haven’t posted any updates about this there.
Press Release was sent to us 🙂 I’m surprised you had not gotten backer news though. That usually happens before I get a PR
