Sun King will craft the official beer for the historic Gen Con 50, Contest participants submitted more than 2,000 names, and the finalists have been chosen for the Official Beer name of Gen Con 50!
For Gen Con 50, taking place August 17-20, Sun King will brew a Belgian-Style Golden Ale, available in both cans and drafts at the convention as well as via bar, restaurant, and packaged liquor providers in the Indianapolis metro.

Created by Indy’s own Sun King Brewery, this year’s beer is a Belgian Golden Ale. To make the list of finalists, beer names had to clear several hurdles, the largest of which was ensuring that the name was legally usable and not close to existing beer names. The beer name also had to be evocative, fun, and match the spirit of the Gen Con 50 and the Sun King partnership.
