The GAMA trade show is off and running and Fireside Games have announced 2 upcoming titles at the show.
First up is Remnants, a post-apocalyptic survival game comes out June 27. The primary mechanic is real-time resource-gathering in which players send out Scavengers to the Badlands to scramble for wood, rope, metal, plastic, and cloth via dice-rolling.
Looters may also be sent out to search for scrap, medicine, and tools. Players may then spend those resources on Development cards to improve their compounds and fend off attacks from Raiders and mutant creatures. Remnants supports 2–4 players, ages 13 and up, and takes an hour to play. MSRP is $39.95.
Also announced is Grackles, a lightly themed abstract strategy game, will be a Gen Con release on August 1. The goal of the game is to line up as many of your own colored birds in rows on telephone wires.
Each turn, players choose 1 of these 4 actions:
• place a tile with 4 colored spots on telephone wire,
• connect 2 of their colored spots with their matching birds,
• extend a line of birds they laid down,
• or rotate an unoccupied tile.
Grackles includes 180 acrylic, debossed bird tokens, supports 2–4 players, ages 10 and up, and takes 30 minutes to play. MSRP is $39.95.
