Betrayal At House On The Hill 3rd Edition On The Way

Avalon Hill has announced the Betrayal at House on the Hill 3rd Edition, designed by Bruce Glassco, which in currently on preorder for consumers at Hasbro Pulse.

 

Like the earlier versions, Betrayal at House on the Hill 3rd Edition is a semi-cooperative game in which the players explore a mysterious abandoned house in hopes of solving its mysteries. But, during the course of the game, one player may be called upon to betray the others, acting as a “traitor” and seeking to undo their efforts.

The new edition will include 50 scenarios for players to explore, including new material that was not part of the earlier editions, and 12 all-new characters.  It is also designed with new players in mind, with updated artwork, rule books, and playing materials that will help less experienced players get into the game quickly and easily.

Betrayal at House on the Hill 3rd Edition comes with the “Traitor’s Tome” and “Secrets of Survival” books, 6 double-sided character boards, 6 plastic character figures, 6 figure bases, 30 clips, 8 dice, 87 cards, 45 room tiles, and 114 cardboard tokens.  The game is intended for 3 to 6 players, ages 12 and up.

The original version of the game was released way back in 2004, with the second edition of the game releasing in 2010. The second edition was supposed to help clean up the many, many errors and errata in the first edition. 2016 then brought us the first expansion, Widow’s Walk which we reviewed here.
