Wizards of the Coast revealed a price hike in its books as it unveiled the release dates and new details for five upcoming Dungeons & Dragons sources and campaign settings launching in 2023.
Beginning with the release of Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants on Aug. 15, the price for physical copies of the books will jump to $59.95. The Dungeons & Dragons developer revealed the price change, with Liz Schuh, the Director of Product Management for D&D, pointing to increased costs around production and shipping as the cause.
“As materials, transportation, and other production costs have increased over the nine years since we released the fifth edition of D&D, we’ve kept the price of our books stable. Because we are committed to maintaining high standards and quality products for our fans, we have made the difficult decision to increase the price of our new release print books, starting with Glory of the Giants,”
Though Wizards confirmed that upcoming products, like the Planescape expansion slated for an October 17th release, will carry the new price tag, it wouldn’t comment on the revised core 5E rule books planned for 2024.
