Surgent Studios’ Dead Take Gets Late July Release Date
Fans of psychological horror and compelling narratives, mark your calendars! Surgent Studios, the acclaimed team behind this year’s Tales of Kenzera: Zau, has officially announced that their next thrilling title, Dead Take, will be released on July 31, 2025. This highly anticipated full-motion video (FMV) game promises to deliver a chilling experience with an all-star cast.
Dead Take plunges players into a beautiful yet eerily abandoned Hollywood mansion. You step into the shoes of Chase Lowry, an actor voiced by the incredibly talented Neil Newbon (known for his role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3), as he searches for his missing friend, Vinny Monroe, portrayed by Ben Starr (Verso in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33). What began as a lavish party has turned into a mystery, and it’s up to you to uncover the secrets hidden within the mansion’s walls.
The game is described as a first-person, escape-room-style horror experience, where players will solve intricate puzzles and piece together live-action videos to unravel the unsettling truth. Surgent Studios is known for its deep storytelling, and Dead Take appears to be no exception, delving into the darker side of the entertainment industry.
Adding to the excitement, the game boasts an impressive ensemble cast beyond its leads. Prepare to see and hear familiar voices and faces from the gaming and entertainment world, including Jane Perry, Matt Mercer, Laura Bailey, Sam Lake, Travis Willingham, Alanah Pearce, and Connor “CdawgVA” Colquhoun. With music by Ross Tregenza, the atmospheric experience is sure to be top-notch.
Dead Take will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. If you’re ready for a psychological journey into a haunting Hollywood mystery, prepare yourself for Dead Take’s arrival on July 31st!
