Everything Announced at the Daggerheart Gen Con 2025 Panel
Gen Con 2025 was busy and had a feeling of excitement in the air, and at the center of it all was the Darrington Press panel, where a flurry of major announcements for the Daggerheart TTRPG system were made. From new content and partnerships to major creative talent joining the team, the future of Daggerheart is looking bigger and brighter than ever. For those who couldn’t attend, here’s a comprehensive breakdown of everything revealed.
A Growing World of Adventure
One of the most thrilling announcements was the expansion of the Daggerheart world. Darrington Press is bringing on legendary game designers to create new content, including former Dungeons & Dragons designers Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford, who joined the Darrington Press team over the summer.
- New Campaign Setting: Jeremy Crawford is taking the lead on a new, “devilishly scary” full campaign setting for Daggerheart.
- Interconnected Adventures: Chris Perkins is designing a series of interconnected adventures that will span multiple campaign frames, weaving a larger narrative for players to explore.
- A Brand-New World: The acclaimed creators of the Eberron campaign setting, Keith Baker and Jenn Ellis of Twogether Studio, are partnering with Darrington Press to create a new world for Daggerheart with thrilling worldbuilding and brilliant new player options.
- “Romantasy” Campaign Frame: Inspired by the in-universe novel Tusk Love, a new campaign frame titled “With Love and Magic” is in the works, offering players a more romantic, high-stakes fantasy adventure.
New Products and Resources
To support the growing community, Darrington Press also announced several new products and free resources.
- Homebrew Kit: A free, in-depth Homebrew Kit is now available, giving GMs and players the resources and insights they need to create their own custom classes, ancestries, and campaign frames.
- Class Packs Kickstarter: Following two sold-out runs of the core set, a Kickstarter campaign is launching in September for Class Packs. These will be individual packs of 76 cards, containing everything a single player needs to play a specific class from level 1 to 10. This is a great solution for groups where multiple players want to run the same class or for GMs who don’t want to lend out their core rulebook cards.
- Official Theme Song: Duology, the music composing team behind Alice is Missing, has created an official theme song for Daggerheart that is being made completely royalty-free for the community to use in their own content.
Partnerships and Actual Plays
Darrington Press is also expanding its reach through several new partnerships and collaborations.
- Miniatures & Dice: New licensed products are on the way, including customizable miniatures of Daggerheart ancestries from Hero Forge and new dice sets from companies like Dispel Dice and Misty Mountain Gaming.
- VTTs: Daggerheart will be coming to new Virtual Tabletop platforms, including Alchemy and Fantasy Grounds.
- Actual Play Collaborations: Several new actual play shows were announced, including a mini-series from Legends of Avantris, a one-shot from Dungeons & Daddies, and a full campaign from Bonus Action, which will be using Daggerheart for its third volume.
- Age of Umbra Season 2: Critical Role’s own dark fantasy survival miniseries, Age of Umbra, will be returning for a second season.
The panel was a powerful statement from Darrington Press, showcasing their commitment to building a rich and supported ecosystem around Daggerheart. With new campaign settings, essential resources for homebrew creators, and a wave of partnerships, the game’s future seems incredibly bright.
