Ever Wanted To Wrestle Dracula In His Castle? Well Now You Can – Wrastlevania Now On Backerkit

9th Level Games  has the glorious, blood-soaked, folding-chair-wielding chaos of Wrastlevania!

The mashup of your retro dreams is here, and it’s not just a clever idea—it’s a fully-funded tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) campaign currently dominating the Backerkit ring. Get ready to trade your holy water for a headlock, because Dracula’s castle just became the ultimate main event!

A Co-Op Campaign That’s Ready to Rumble!

Forget one-shot adventures. Wrastlevania is throwing down with a massive, complete boxed campaign that the publisher estimates will give you over 40 hours of glorious gameplay. This isn’t just fighting monsters; this is building a wrestling legacy as you and your fellow wrastlers explore a sprawling, haunted map with one goal: putting the ultimate heel, EVIL ULTRA DRACULA, through a table!

The Metroidvania Monster

The core structure is lifted right from your favorite exploration-heavy video games: it’s a “metroidvania.” As you defeat foes and progress, you’ll unlock new abilities and items that allow you to reach previously inaccessible parts of the map. The castle is your dungeon, and your progress is permanently altering the layout!

Who You Gonna Be, Brother?

  • The Roster: Up to five players create their own wrestling personas—the monster-hunting heroes of the story.
  • The Big Bad: One player steps into the boots of the arch-antagonist, EVIL ULTRA DRACULA, managing the monsters and traps of the castle itself.
  • FACE vs. HEEL: When building your character, you even decide on their moral alignment: are you a heroic FACE (the good guy) or a dastardly HEEL (the villain)? Just make sure to write a killer signature promo and select the perfect entrance music!

Breaking Down the Blueprint: How the Game Works

Wrastlevania uses a custom ruleset that’s both simple and deeply thematic, ensuring the focus stays on the monster-mashing action.

The polymorph™ System

The game runs on 9th Level Games’ proprietary polymorph™ system, which gives every character role a specific polyhedral die to roll:

Character Role Assigned Die Example Roll Range
The Ace d4 High probability of specific results (small range)
The Monster d10 Wide range of possible results (large range)
Other Roles d6, d8 Intermediate range and probability

Success isn’t about rolling high; it’s about hitting a target number on a resolution chart called the WRASOLVER. This means every character role has a distinct, defined probability curve, making them feel truly different when the moment of truth arrives!

The QRawl Progression System

In a truly modern twist, the game integrates technology via QR codes (hence the name “QRawl”). As you explore and uncover secrets, you’ll scan codes in the game to:

  • Reveal Secrets: Unlock new plot points and hidden areas.
  • Provide Information: Access extra lore and details.
  • Deliver Bonus Content: Yes, we’re talking video content!

This system is key to the legacy aspect—scanning codes means you are permanently altering the game world with new content as your campaign unfolds.

Don’t Miss the Ring Bell!

Wrastlevania is already a certified hit for 9th Level Games, a company with a perfect track record, having successfully funded and delivered all 26 of their previous crowdfunding projects (including favorites like Mazes Fantasy Roleplaying).

The campaign is live right now on Backerkit, and if you want to get your hands on that sweet, limited-time swag—like a free d2 “steel” chair coin for early backers—you’ll want to get in the ring fast!

Are you ready to create your wrestler and start suplexing some spooky skeletons, or would you like a link to the live Backerkit campaign?
