RuneQuest is a classic fantasy-adventure RPG. It was first published in 1978, released at that year’s Origins Game Fair, where it sold out. In the early years of the game, it was incredibly popular, second only to AD&D in sales. The game had since gone out of print, but this summer at Gen Con, Chaosium announced that they had acquired the rights to both RuneQuest and the game’s original campaign setting of Glorantha

The Kickstarter met its initial funding goal of $30,000 in less than five hours. With 19 days remaining, it has funding of $90,880 from 1.064 backers (As of this posting).

The Kickstarter includes two versions of RuneQuest Classic Edition, a high quality hardcover with sewn binding, and a deluxe leatherette edition of the book with a dust jacket. Both levels of backing include a printed GM screen, player handouts, and numerous add on options. The 144-page book contains all of the text from 2nd edition, corrected for errata, with additional material supplied in new appendices.

Backer fulfillment planned for January 2016, with a trade release to follow.

Fantasic news! RuneQuest remains one of the most involved and consistent fantasy worlds ever put onto paper. Great to see the love remains.
