We normally don’t post or report on anything that is the rumor mill, but this is too interesting not to post!
Hasbro has filed for a new Trademark this week at the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Titled as HASBROCON, the trademark is described as :
“Organizing and conducting conventions, exhibitions, fan clubs and gatherings for entertainment purposes and in the fields of toys, animation, comic books, fantasy, gaming, popular culture, science fiction, television and film”.
This is hot on the heels of another Trademark they filed for titled as HASCON, with the very same description :
“Organizing and conducting conventions, exhibitions, fan clubs and gatherings for entertainment purposes and in the fields of toys, animation, comic books, fantasy, gaming, popular culture, science fiction, television and film”.
All signs are pointing towards them wanting to create/host a convention. To add another piece of wood to the fire they also registered the following domain Hasbro-Con.com
If they are indeed getting ready to venture into the convention business, They have plenty to work with, between Dungeons & Dragons, My Little Pony, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Playdoh and Nerf. Not to mention all the partner branding with Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm.
We well of course, keep an eye on this to see how this turn out
