Sequel to Uno Coming Soon, Of Course It’s Called Dos

Mattel figures it has been 47 years since Uno hit the market, so naturally, the sequel has to be called Dos!

The objective is the same, so the first person to get rid of all their cards wins. Each player starts with seven cards. Two cards, not one, start in the center row of the game. When it’s your turn, you must match the number of your card with the number of one of the cards in the center row. If you match the number, you move the pair down and draw another card to go in the center row. If you match the number and the color, you can discard another card, move that pile to the discard area, and draw another card to go in the center. That’s correct, Instead of having a single pile on the table, onto which players must lay a matching card or draw from the deck, Dos has two separate stacks that can be discarded too. Once a player only has two cards left, they can then call out ‘dos’ – (This is not Uno after all!) The winner earns points based on the cards left in their rivals’ hands, with 200 points needed for victory.

Other rule changes include the ability to discard two cards that add up to one of the numbers in the middle, one on each pile. If you match the colors of both cards in the center, it also forces your opponents to pick up an extra card. And the classic  Uno’s wild cards, are changed a bit as well.

Target stores are getting the game exclusively and will begin selling the game for $5.99 on March 4. It will be available everywhere starting in August.
