There Is A New Ghostbusters Sequel In The Works

Sony has been keeping a secret from all of us, but the cat is out of the bag in a big way!

Sony Pictures is developing a sequel that will be set in the original universe, from what we know it will be a continuation of the 1984 film Ghostbusters 2 and will in no way be connected to the 2016 pile of steaming crap that we should all ever forget even happened.

The best news in all of this is, Jason Reitman, who is the son of the original director Ivan Reitman will direct the film from a script that he will co-write with Gil Kenan. His father, Ivan Reitman will be producing.

“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans, This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.” Jason Reitman

There’s no word on whether any members of the original cast will return to the franchise, I for one hope this will happen in some small way, I would hope also they would pay homage to Harold Ramis who died in 2014 from an auto-immune disease.

That’s all about all we know, but we did have a very short “teaser’ Trailer hit.

The 45-second clip doesn’t show too much but the sound effects and camera work seems to suggest it will be similar to the original two movies. as there are many callbacks to the original fan, from the music at the start, and of course the original Ecto-1 License plate.

Summer of 2020 can’t get in fast enough!
