Dragons of Stormwreck Isle New D&D Starter Set On The Way

With as little fanfare as humanly possible, a new starter for D&D was announced, well sorta.

Hasbro’s NEW Toys, Games and Entertainment in 2022! video showcasing new products for 2022 includes an image of an as-yet-unannounced Dungeons and Dragons starter set called Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. D&D appears at 0:22 minutes, 0:33 and 0:42 of the minute-long video. There will also be a new book that was also  mentioned by name in a Hasbro press release, which lists Dragons of Stormwreck Isle’s projected price as $49.99

The starter set was announced in the press release alongside other upcoming 2022 releases from Wizards of the Coast – including Critical Role sourcebook Call of the Nethderdeep, a Magic: The Gathering set booster for Streets of New Capenna, and MtG’s Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate. Although there is no release date included for Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, its inclusion in the press release implies that it will be released at some point this year.

At this time, there has been no official announcement on the Dungeons and Dragons website. I’ve reached out to my PR Reps, but have not heard back with any other information.

Dragons of Stormwreck Isle is markedly more expensive than the current starter set for D&D 5E, the suggested MSRP is 49.99, which is a major jump from the other starter sets at 19.99.
