Stonemaier Games, the studio behind Expeditions, Wingspan, Tapestry, Scythe, and many others, has announced a new 1-5-player game, Wyrmspan. The game, which has been jocosely dubbed a Wingspan with dragons, plays over 90 minutes and is more or less that.
In the game, each player sets out to build a sanctuary for dragons of all shapes and forms. First, though, you will need to excavate a beautiful labyrinth and entice the beats there so they can find shelter from the world. As the game progresses, players will continue to unearth more pieces and places, trying to compel the dragons to come and live there.
Of course, your efforts will not go unnoticed as the Dragon Guild will hear of your exploits and you will rise in its quirky pecking order, winning you the game eventually.
Players will get to pick from 183 dragons and try to bring them to the sanctuary earning points in the process. There is a whimsical dragon fact book spanning 32 pages and 65 different cave cards, along with 55 speckled egg tokens, and many other components.
The game is set to release Jan 31, it will launch first on the website at 10 am EST. so be sure to get there early!
