Tabletop Tycoon Announces Blood Rage: Valhalla

Fans of epic Viking sagas and strategic area control, rejoice! Tabletop Tycoon (now operating as Tycoon Games) has officially announced Blood Rage: Valhalla, a standalone sequel to Eric Lang’s critically acclaimed 2015 hit, Blood Rage. This news comes after Tabletop Tycoon recently acquired the rights to Blood Rage, along with other popular titles like Rising Sun and Ankh: Gods of Egypt, from CMON.

For those unfamiliar, Blood Rage immersed players in a pre-Ragnarök world where Viking clans vied for glory, battling monsters, pillaging villages, and dying gloriously to secure their place in Valhalla. The game was celebrated for its compelling card drafting, strategic combat, and stunning miniatures.

Blood Rage: Valhalla promises to take players beyond the world’s end, setting the stage in the afterlife itself. While details are still emerging, early glimpses suggest that the sequel will retain the core mechanics that made the original so beloved, but with new twists reflecting its otherworldly setting. Players can expect to continue their quest for divine favor, battling amongst the strongest warriors to have ever lived within the halls of Valhalla.

The Gamefound campaign for Blood Rage: Valhalla is “launching soon,” and early teasers hint at an array of new, exquisitely detailed miniatures, including “armies of Asgard” and mythical beasts warped by the gods. Furthermore, Tabletop Tycoon has confirmed that remastered versions of the original Blood Rage and its expansions, along with Rising Sun and Ankh: Gods of Egypt, will also be available during the crowdfunding campaign, offering a fantastic opportunity for both new and veteran players to complete their collections.

The acquisition of these “mythic trilogy” titles and the subsequent announcement of Blood Rage: Valhalla signal an exciting new chapter for fans of Eric Lang’s work and miniatures board games. As the campaign draws closer, more details on gameplay changes and additional content are expected to be revealed, building anticipation for what promises to be another glorious battle for Valhalla.
