Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast Unveils 2026 D&D Roadmap

If you thought the transition to D&D 5.5e was the end of news for Hasbro/Wotc this week, think again. Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast has pulled back the curtain on its 2026 release calendar, detailing a packed schedule that carries players through the third quarter of the year.

In a departure from previous years, the 2026 lineup is organized into thematic “Seasons,” each focusing on a specific pillar of play: Horror, Magic, and Champions. Here is everything we know about the upcoming journey.

1. The Season of Horror (Q2 2026)
The year kicks off with a chilling return to the Mists. Fans of Gothic horror will be pleased to see a deep dive back into the Domains of Dread.

Lead Product: Ravenloft: The Horrors Within

Release Date: June 16, 2026

Price: $59.99

Content: This sourcebook is introducing  new subclasses, species, and backgrounds tailored for dark fantasy. It also expands on the “Dark Gift” feat system and provides fresh lore on the Darklords.

Accessories: To support the atmosphere, WotC is launching a suite of tools (each retailing for $24.99):

  • A newly designed Tarokka Deck.
  • The Horrors Within DM Screen.
  • A dedicated Map Pack for the Domains of Dread.

2. The Season of Magic (Q3 2026)
As the shadows of Ravenloft recede, the focus shifts to high-octane spellcasting and the fundamental forces of the Multiverse.

Sourcebook: Arcana Unleashed ($49.99)

This is the “High Magic” bible for 5.5e. It promises a total overhaul of the magic item system and a wealth of new player options for casters.

Adventure Expansion: Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall ($29.99)

Acting as a narrative companion, this adventure introduces the magical society of Cathay and thrusts players into the middle of an escalating “Wizard War.”

3. The Season of Champions (Q4 2026)
While WotC is keeping the specific book titles for the year’s final quarter under wraps for now, we do know that the focus will shift to legendary heroes and high-level play.

However, they did confirm a massive quality-of-life update for DMs arriving in Q4: D&D Reference Card Decks. These 5e-compatible decks will cover Spells, Magic Items, and Monsters, designed to speed up play by removing the need to flip through rulebooks mid-combat.

It’s worth noting that while these products are being tagged for the new 5.5e era, they remain fully compatible with your existing 5e libraries, ensuring the transition stays as seamless as promised.
