BattleTech Gothic Hits Retail
Catalyst Game Labs has officially announced the retail release of BattleTech Gothic, the inaugural entry in the new BattleTech Continuum series. This isn’t your grandfather’s BattleTech, and fans are already buzzing about the dark and gritty alternate universe it introduces.
BattleTech Gothic brings the familiar tabletop wargame to a new level, exploring a “what if” scenario where the Human Sphere is a more desperate, brutal place. The core box is packed with everything a new or veteran player needs to jump into this new timeline. Included are eight high-quality, unpainted miniatures of classic BattleMechs, but with a unique, gothic aesthetic. The set features the iconic UrbanMech, the swift Firestarter, the hulking King Crab, and a special, customizable Atlas with interchangeable heads and banners.
The game also introduces a terrifying new element: Abominations. These are monstrous, genetically engineered creatures of flesh and metal that stalk the battlefields alongside the ‘Mechs. The box includes specific rules for incorporating these horrifying foes into your games, adding a new layer of tactical depth and narrative.
Beyond the miniatures, the box set is a treasure trove of content. It features a comprehensive rulebook that’s perfect for new players, a detailed universe primer to immerse you in the lore, and a novella titled Reclamation and Rise. You’ll also find Alpha Strike cards, pilot cards, and a full-color, double-sided poster map to set the scene for your battles.
This release marks an exciting new chapter for the BattleTech franchise. The Continuum series promises to be a fun detour from the main timeline, exploring new art and story directions while keeping the core gameplay that fans love. With an estimated street date in late 2025, it’s time to prepare your lances and dive into a world of ‘Mechs, monsters, and endless war.
