The Multiverse Explodes: Every Major Miniature Previewed by Atomic Mass Games for Marvel: Crisis Protocol

Atomic Mass Games (AMG) just wrapped up their annual Ministravaganza event, and the reveals for Marvel: Crisis Protocol (MCP) were nothing short of monumental. The popular superhero miniatures skirmish game is set to receive its largest wave of new characters, affiliations, and major rules shake-ups, promising to completely redefine the competitive landscape in the coming year.

From time-traveling conquerors and cosmic anti-heroes to gamma-powered giants and new mutant sub-factions, here is a detailed breakdown of every major miniature and pack previewed.

1. Chronal Chaos and the Iron Legion

The biggest single character reveal has to be the iconic time-traveling warlord, Kang the Conqueror. Kang is confirmed to be arriving soon, bringing his signature chronal shenanigans to the tabletop. His pack is a massive addition to the roster, not just for the villain himself, but for his companions:

  • Iron Lad: The younger self of Kang and a key member of the Young Avengers.
  • Rescue (Pepper Potts): A long-awaited addition, Rescue is noted as being one of the game’s first dedicated full-on healers, providing much-needed support for Iron Man-affiliated rosters.
  • Iron Monger (Obadiah Stane): A heavy-hitting, lower threat-cost bruiser on a larger base, ready to smash through terrain and rivals alike.

This pack offers immediate versatility, providing a new cabal leader in Kang and crucial utility pieces in Rescue and Iron Lad.

2. Cosmic Messiahs and Gamma-Powered Rampage

The space-faring side of the Marvel Universe is receiving some incredibly powerful new options.

Adam Warlock, Moondragon & Quasar (Phyla-Vell) are set to bring the cosmic scope of the Infinity Saga back to the battlefield. The standout here is Adam Warlock, who arrives as a massive Threat 7 character. Billed as the “Anti-Thanos,” he will come equipped with the Bonded Soul Infinity Gem, promising a unique play style centered around immense power and spiritual fortitude.

If smashing is more your style, the gamma-powered corner of the Marvel Universe gets a massive boost with The Leader, Red Hulk & Sensational She-Hulk joining the fight. This trio offers a mix of raw strength (Red Hulk), strategic control and manipulation (The Leader), and balanced offense (She-Hulk), creating a potent new combination for players looking to field characters defined by brute force and high threat values.

3. Operation Zero Tolerance: Mutants vs. Sentinels

The X-Men affiliation receives deep reinforcements, but with a thematic counter-punch from their oldest enemies.

The Dani Moonstar, Havok, Jubilee & Multiple Man pack significantly expands the X-Men’s toolbox. Havok and Multiple Man are both expected to bring new X-Factor affiliation leadership options, meaning players will have fresh ways to build their mutant rosters beyond the core X-Men and Brotherhood affiliations. Jubilee, a fan favorite, adds a burst of energy and firework attacks.

This influx of mutants is immediately challenged by new Sentinel releases tied to the Operation: Zero Tolerance event. Players can look forward to new Sentinel variants like Bastion, Nimrod, and Omega Sentinel, giving the Sentinel affiliation massive upgrades and new playstyles. Furthermore, the accompanying Operation Zero Tolerance Crisis Card Pack is set to retell the classic comic campaign through a new set of linked missions.

4. New Affiliations and Terrain

Beyond the characters, AMG previewed two key areas that affect the game’s core experience:

  • Mighty Avengers Affiliation: Recently announced via the Blue Marvel & Spectrum pack, this new affiliation promises to shake up the Avengers roster, with Spectrum offering a leadership ability focused on Power sharing—a mechanic that rewards tactical resource management.
  • Dark Dimension Terrain: A new terrain kit is coming that features twisted, eerie scenery inspired by the dimension ruled by Dormammu. This provides dynamic, thematic backdrop options for battles.

With a massive wave of new characters covering cosmic, mutant, and gamma themes, plus a slew of new crisis cards and terrain, the roadmap for Marvel: Crisis Protocol looks to be its most ambitious yet. Get ready to assemble your next roster!
