From The Dice Tower to Gen Con: Camilla Cleghorn Named New Head of Events

In a major career move within the tabletop gaming industry, Camilla Cleghorn has officially announced that she is joining Gen Con as their new Head of Events.

The announcement, shared on social media, marks a bittersweet transition for Cleghorn, who has spent the last several years as a prominent voice, content creator, and organizer at The Dice Tower.

A Legacy of Building Community at The Dice Tower

During her tenure with The Dice Tower, Cleghorn became a core fixture across the channel’s media ecosystem and convention operations. Her contributions spanned every facet of tabletop media and event production:

• Convention Growth: Played a key operational role in organizing and growing major community gatherings, including Dice Tower East.

• Media & Content Creation: Filmed board game reviews, hosted live Q&A sessions, and anchored convention floor coverage.

• Crowdfunding Management: Assisted in leading campaign drives and community pledge outreach for The Dice Tower.

Reflecting on her time with the network, Cleghorn expressed deep gratitude toward founder Tom Vasel, the team, and the broader gaming audience:

What Cleghorn Brings to Gen Con

Managing event operations for Gen Con—the largest tabletop convention in North America, which hosted over 74,000 attendees in 2026—is a massive undertaking. From coordinating thousands of individual gaming sessions, tournaments, and seminars to managing vendor spaces and open play areas, the Head of Events position directly impacts the on-site experience for attendees.

Cleghorn’s professional background extends well beyond media production. Prior to her work with The Dice Tower, she held a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Tennessee, focusing on ASL Educational Interpreting, and worked as an ASL interpreter and disability representative. That focus on accessibility, combined with her firsthand experience running convention programming and interacting directly with gamers, positions her uniquely to lead Gen Con’s event architecture as the convention prepares for future growth at the expanded Indiana Convention Center.

While her departure from daily Dice Tower streams marks the end of a memorable chapter, Cleghorn emphasized that she isn’t leaving the community behind.
