Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game Rises From The Grave
Renegade Game Studios has announced the return of a iconic cooperative dungeon crawler: Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game.
Developed in licensing partnership with Wizards of the Coast and parent company Hasbro, this new release breathes fresh life into a classic title that helped kick off the beloved D&D Adventure System board game series over a decade ago.
A Look Back: The Legacy of Castle Ravenloft
First released by Wizards of the Coast back in 2010, the original Castle Ravenloft board game set the blueprint for modern cooperative fantasy board gaming. Designed around a tile-laying, event-driven dungeon crawl mechanics, it allowed 1 to 5 players to step into the boots of classic fantasy adventurers—including a Human Cleric, Dragonborn Fighter, Rogue, Wizard, and Dwarf Ranger.
Together, players explore procedural tile layouts, fight off iconic Gothic horrors, evade lethal traps, and ultimately face off in a climatic showdown against the vampire master himself, Lord Strahd von Zarovich.
Its streamlined rules and zero-Dungeon-Master requirement made it an instant classic, spawning a whole line of compatible D&D Adventure System games in subsequent years, including Wrath of Ashardalon, Legend of Drizzt, and Temple of Elemental Evil.
