Paizo Brings Re-Animator to Life in New 13 Omens TTRPG Expansion

Classic horror fans and tabletop gamers have a reason to celebrate. Paizo Inc. has officially partnered with Re-Animator Productions® to bring Herbert West’s gruesome experiments to the tabletop.

Announced as part of the ongoing Kickstarter campaign for 13 Omens, this officially licensed adaptation marks the first time the iconic 1985 cult classic horror film—originally directed by Stuart Gordon and based on the short stories by H.P. Lovecraft—is being turned into a dedicated tabletop roleplaying game adventure.

What to Expect in Re-Animator: A 13 Omens Story

In Re-Animator: A 13 Omens Story, players step into the lab coats of medical students at Miskatonic University who have stumbled upon Herbert West’s infamous glowing green glowing agent: a serum capable of reanimating dead flesh.

Naturally, resurrecting the deceased comes with horrific consequences:

  • Chaos in the Lab: Managing your own reanimated test subjects gets messy, violent, and unpredictable fast.

  • Nefarious Rivals: You aren’t the only ones who know about the serum. Other factions and power-hungry individuals will stop at nothing to claim the formula for themselves.

  • Mad Science Rules: Designed to leverage the modular mechanics of 13 Omens, the module leans heavily into dark humor, body horror, and high-stakes survival.

“13 Omens’ rules give us the freedom to partner with iconic franchises like Re-Animator,” said Erik Mona, Paizo Publisher and CCO. “We’re thrilled to give players the opportunity to spend an evening living the insane dream of one of horror’s most iconic mad scientists!”
