Tabletop Tycoon Acquires Gamelyn Brand
Tabletop Tycoon, recently rebranded as Tycoon Games, has officially acquired Gamelyn Games, a well-known publisher celebrated for its highly successful “Tiny Epic” series and the acclaimed “Heroes of Land, Air, and Sea” game line. This acquisition, announced on July 7, 2025, marks another strategic expansion for Tycoon Games, which has been on an active acquisition spree this year.
A Legacy of “Tiny Epic” Success
Gamelyn Games, founded in March 2011 by Michael and Brittany Coe, rose to prominence with the release of Tiny Epic Kingdoms in 2014, designed by Scott Almes. This game spawned a prolific and beloved series of “Tiny Epic” titles, known for packing grand gameplay into compact boxes. Gamelyn’s latest project, Tiny Epic Dungeons Adventures, recently raised over a million dollars on Kickstarter, showcasing the enduring popularity and dedicated fanbase of the brand.
Michael Coe expressed gratitude and excitement in his announcement to the Gamelyn Games community, stating that passing the torch to Tycoon Games ensures the continued legacy of their games. He highlighted that Dan Yarrington, owner of Tycoon Games, has been a trusted partner for over a decade, deeply understanding the “Tiny Epic” series and sharing a commitment to quality and community. Importantly, Scott Almes will remain as the series designer for “Tiny Epic” games, ensuring continuity in their creative vision.
Tycoon Games’ Expanding Portfolio
This acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic moves by Tycoon Games (formerly Tabletop Tycoon). Earlier this year, the company acquired popular titles from CMON, including Blood Rage, Rising Sun, Ankh: Gods of Egypt, Arcadia Quest, and Starcadia Quest. They also added Canvas from R2i Games and the Trailblazer line from Mariposa Games to their growing catalog.
Dan Yarrington, CEO of Tycoon Games, emphasized their honor in welcoming the “Tiny Epic” and “Heroes of Land, Air, and Sea” lines into the Tycoon Games family. He noted that these titles have captivated players with their innovative mechanics and immersive worlds, aligning perfectly with Tycoon Games’ vision.
What This Means for Gamers
For fans of Gamelyn Games’ titles, particularly the “Tiny Epic” series, the transition promises a bright future. Michael Coe confirmed that he will remain closely involved with the Tiny Epic Dungeons Adventures project through completion, working hand-in-hand with the Tycoon Games team. Communication channels for ongoing Kickstarter projects are expected to remain unchanged, with enhanced customer support and more robust fulfillment capabilities due to Tycoon Games’ experience and resources.
This acquisition suggests that Tycoon Games is positioning itself as a major player in the tabletop industry, aiming to bring a wider array of high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide. While the “Tiny Epic” series will continue to be a core focus, the resources and reach of Tycoon Games could lead to even more exciting developments, reissues, and new content for these beloved games. As Tycoon Games continues its assertive growth strategy, the tabletop landscape is undoubtedly set for interesting shifts.
