Jason Voorhees Joins the Hellbreak TCG

Horror fans and card gamers, rejoice. The iconic hockey-masked slasher of Camp Crystal Lake is officially entering the ring. Spin Master, Ghost Galaxy, and Universal Products & Experiences have announced that Jason Voorhees will join the roster of Hellbreak, an upcoming horror trading card game launching in early 2027.

The announcement, licensed through Horror, Inc.’s Jason Universe initiative, brings one of the most recognizable slashers in cinematic history to a fast-paced, competitive monster-versus-monster card game.

What is Hellbreak TCG?

Developed by Ghost Galaxy in partnership with Spin Master, Hellbreak is designed as a “monster sandbox” TCG where legendary villains from film, television, and mythology clash in brutal 1v1 fights.

The core mechanics put a unique spin on 2-player tabletop battles:

Lurking to Unleashed: Each player picks a central Monster card that starts hidden in a “Lurking” state before flipping to a powerful “Unleashed” form during battle.
Resource & Location Management: Players collect resources like Blood and Malice, deploy Minions, activate Jump Scare abilities, and contest control over thematic Locations.
Winning the Match: Attacks reduce the opponent’s Monster health stack until one slasher stands victorious.

Jason’s Debut in Set 1: Dawn of Terror

Jason makes his debut in the debut set, Dawn of Terror, sharing the stage with a star-studded lineup of horror legends—including Dracula, Jaws, The Bride of Frankenstein, and the Headless Horseman.

The revealed cards draw across multiple eras of the Friday the 13th franchise rather than focusing on a single film:

Jason (Monster – Crystal Lake Killer / Unleashed): A high-durability slasher capable of scaling in power as he equips weapons and items.
Hockey Mask (Asset/Upgrade): Grants abilities like Bloodlust when defeating enemy minions.
Savage Blow (Event): An Unleashed action that weakens targets based on controlled locations.
