Rick Loomis Founder Of Flying Buffalo Passes Away

It is with great sadness, that we have to report that Mr. Rick Loomis founder of Flying Buffalo has passed away from complications of cancer.

Rick Loomis was an important figure in the Tabletop industry. In 1970, he founded Flying Buffalo Games (Tunnes & Trolls, Grimtooth’s Traps, Mercenaries, Spies, & Private Eyes and more). He was also one of the founders of GAMA (the Game Manufacturers Association) where he served as President for 7 years. As President of Flying Buffalo, Rick worked with well-known creatives like Michael Stackpole, Liz Danforth, Jennell Jaquays and others.

On a personal note, Mr. Loomis was a very nice person, we had the chance to talk to him at Gen Con a few years ago, I would always stop by the booth and say hello and chat with him, and there were many occasions when I would run into him in the halls or an elevator, and he would say hello and ask me how my day at the con was going.

As someone who has lost 2 people very close to me to cancer (My Mother and Uncle) this hits close to home.  RIP good sir.
