San Diego Comic-Con is upon us, and the first juicy bit of news we got was the official trailer for the upcoming D&D movie.
Based on the first trailer for the upcoming film “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” nerdom has never looked better.
Starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, and Justice Smith, the scenes revealed in the trailer showcase all the dragons and swords the fantasy role-playing game is known for — along with humor and plenty of action.
“A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
I must admit, I had some doubts on this one, but the trailer has given some slight glimmers of hope. I think they are doing this right, at least the trailer seems to point in that direction.
BUT, and yes it’s huge but, can we talk about the choice of music in the trailer? I mean I Love Led Zeppelin, but they have SO MANY other songs they could have used that would be worked much better than a whole lot of love, that just broke the immersion a bit, small quibble aside, I’ll be in a theater seat to check this out.
