Gen Con 2025: A Look At New Games From Kosmos
I’m still in recovery mode from Gen Con 2025, I’m thrilled to share an exclusive look into the Kosmos booth. I had the pleasure of joining a press tour guided by the incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic Court, the Junior Marketing Manager for Games. Court walked us through a fantastic lineup of upcoming titles, offering deep insights that have me more excited than ever for the next year of gaming.
Our tour started with a bang, focusing on the latest titles from the ever-popular EXIT series. Court revealed not one, but three new adventures! First up is EXIT: The Venice Conspiracy, a thrilling escape room that promises to immerse players in the mystery of Italy’s floating city. Court hinted at puzzles cleverly integrated with Venetian architecture and history, ensuring a rich and atmospheric experience.
For those who love a good fright, Court also unveiled EXIT: Midnight Spooktacular. This new entry is designed to deliver a dose of suspense and supernatural intrigue. It sounds like the perfect game to play with the lights dimmed, filled with chilling clues and a spooky narrative.
But the most innovative announcement was EXIT: The Intergalactic Race is an Advent Calendar. This sounds absolutely brilliant! Court explained that this is an Advent Calendar with a twist—each of the 24 doors reveals a new mini-puzzle that, when solved, progresses the overarching story of an intergalactic race. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the escape room experience in bite-sized, daily doses.
Next, we transitioned into the world of crime-solving with Masters of Crime: Mosquito. Court described this as a new case for the collaborative deduction game series. The “Mosquito” subtitle suggests a crime that may seem small or insignificant at first, but has a surprising sting in its tail. Players will have to meticulously piece together evidence to uncover the truth, a task that promises to be both challenging and immensely rewarding.
For the strategy gamers, Court proudly showcased Australis. This game is a beautiful exploration and resource management title set on the stunning and unique continent. Players will discover new lands, manage their resources, and build their civilization. The game’s intricate mechanics and gorgeous artwork make it a standout title for anyone who loves a deep, strategic experience.
Fans of cooperative play will be thrilled to hear about The Crew: Family Adventure – Marooned in Paradise. This new addition to The Crew series is designed for a family audience, with simplified rules and a delightful tropical theme. Court explained that the game maintains the core cooperative trick-taking that makes the original so beloved, but with a more forgiving and family-friendly approach. It’s a great way to introduce younger players to the fun of working together to complete missions.
Finally, we were given a glimpse into One Of Us. This social deduction game sounds like a refreshing take on the genre. Court hinted that it involves hidden roles and secret goals, but with a focus on subtle observation and nuanced communication. Instead of outright accusations, players must be mindful of smaller clues to figure out who among them is the “one of us.” This promises a more suspenseful and psychological experience than many other games in the category.
We then took a detour into the realm of fast-paced fun with Dice Words. This game is all about speed and vocabulary. Players simultaneously roll a set of letter dice and race to form the highest-scoring words. Court highlighted its accessibility and high replay value, making it a perfect game for a quick break or a lively family game night.
A massive thank you to Court for an incredible tour! The Kosmos booth at Gen Con 2025 is a must-visit, with a diverse lineup that has something for every type of gamer. From mind-bending puzzles to high-stakes strategy and cooperative fun, Kosmos is set to have an unforgettable year. This is one of those press events I always look forward to at Gen Con! Keep your eyes peeled for these incredible games!
