Created by Chris Cieslik and published by Asmadi Games as a surprise release, Aw Ducks! is a snappy, push-your-luck card game packed with charming artwork by Lyn Redder. Built around a clever mix of risk management and pattern-building, the game plays out across a shared deck of cards, a communal “Duck Pond,” individual player tableaus, and private score piles.

Components

• 72 Number Cards: Numbered 1 through 6 in six distinct colors (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and Black).

• 24 Duck Cards: Spread across matching colors plus wild Rainbow ducks.

How It Works

On your turn, you must choose one of three main actions: Draw, Score, or Discard.

1. Draw: You flip cards from the deck until you hit a number. If you flip a number, it goes into your face-up Tableau. If you flip a duck, it lands in the central Duck Pond, and discards any matching-colored numbers from your tableau! (Black numbers are safe from color wipes, and Rainbow ducks match everything).

2. Score: You cash in your tableau, moving all those cards safely into your face-down score pile. More importantly, you look at the communal Duck Pond: if your tableau satisfies a duck’s specific color or pattern requirement (such as three of the same number, four numbers in a row, or five different colors), you claim that duck and add it to your score pile!

3. Discard: You sacrifice a card from your tableau to trigger powerful mitigation abilities depending on the card’s value, such as taking a “Safe Draw” (drawing without duck consequences), launching a “Quick Quack”, or tucking cards directly into your “Secret Stash”.

The round wraps up when the main deck runs out, leading to a final tally where points (and bonus points per collected duck) decide the winner.
